Recreation Ground

The 'Old Recreation Ground' is located in front of the cottages at Church Row.  It was gifted to the Village by Earl Harcourt.  It used to house playground equipment, until health and safety and insurance became significant issues.  It is currently maintained as open space and the grass cut.

The 250th birthday party was held there in 2010, and the Village Plan's children's event made use of the field.  The feedback from the young people was that they'd like to see the Recreation Ground used more.

The Committee that has responsibility for the Recreation Ground is starting to gather new members to look at the future of the Recreation Ground, which they want to make sure is kept as a community resource.  The concrete hand-prints made by the young people were always expected to be installed on the Recreation Ground as a 'walk of fame'.

Further information will be posted here from time to time.

Jasminder Love is the Parish Council member on the Committee.
